Continuous Inflation & Airline Tubing – Nylon and Stainless Steel
When you're setting a Packer, Flow Control Valve, or other tool hundreds or thousands of feet downhole, the last thing you want to worry about is a fitting failure in your inflation line. Baski stocks continuous lengths of nylon and stainless steel tubing so you can run a single, uninterrupted line from surface to tool — no couplings, no extra leak points, no callbacks. We'll spool off whatever length you need, so you show up to the job with exactly what the work requires.
Nylon Tubing
We stock 1/4" OD (0.050" wall) Nylon tubing in clear, black and red colors. We have full spools available in 5,000 ft lengths, or we can cut shorter lengths as you need. This tubing has a working pressure of 625 psi at 80ºF. The most common applications for this tubing is airline for water level measurements and short term inflation of our packers. It is light weight, flexible, and great for a variety of projects.
Stainless Steel Tubing
When a job calls for something tougher — deeper settings, open hole, tight clearances, higher pressures, or tubing that's going to stay in the hole — stainless steel is the right call. We stock two alloys depending on what your well conditions demand.
Type 316/L Stainless Steel
1/4" OD (0.035" wall) type 316/L SS tubing, cut to order in any length up to 30,000 ft. This tubing is hydrostatically tested to 10,000 psi and is commonly used for inflating our packers or other products, airline measurements, and many other applications. This versatile tubing can be used both downhole along your drop pipe as well as at the surface, as it is flexible enough to be pulled through conduit and can be neatly bent as needed for a clean finshed istallation using a tubing bender tool.
Duplex 2205 Stainless Steel
We also stock 1/4" OD (0.035" wall) Duplex 2205 SS tubing, cut to order in any length up to 30,000 ft. Duplex 2205 is a high strength stainless steel alloy that has a very high resistance to chloride corrosion. We began to stock this alloy because chlorine is one of the few enemies of type 316/L stainless steel. In such cases, the chlorine can eat right through the wall of the 316/L tubing and create pinholes. This is important to consider in applications where tubing will be used and chlorine may be present. This tubing is hydrostatically tested to 10,000 psi. This tubing is recommended for applications when the tubing will be left in the hole for long periods of time, especially when the well may be sanitized on occasion, such as with our downhole Flow Control Valves. This tubing is easy to run downhole along your drop pipe, as you can put it on a A-frame or other basic cable rack and let it come off as you do downhole. However, once you come out of the wellhead, you will likely want to cross over to our 316L stainless steel tubing or other flexible options, as the high yield strength of the Duplex 2205 Stainless Steel tubing makes it very difficult to pull through conduit or make tight bends.
